What's asap all about?

ASAP – The Africa Social Action Project was started by a group of friends after a trip to South Africa in 2007 with the Jewish charity Aish. On the trip we visited the SizaBantwana project, in Hazyview, near Kruger national park – It was a visit that would deeply touch and change our lives.

SizaBantwana gives desperately needed love and care to orphans who have tragically lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic. Their dedicated volunteers provide food, clothing, medical care and education. Inspired by the project and our Jewish heritage which urges ‘Tikkun Olum’ (Repairing the world), on our return, we set up ASAP to support these beautiful children.

Working with our partner charity ‘Starfish’, we are providing funds, and on-the-ground logistical support. With our help the project has become more professional and accountable while expanding the number of orphans they care for from 70 to nearly 200.

With our, and indeed your help, SizaBantwana will go from strength to strength and be able to adopt more of the thousands of orphans in the local area.
